Research Interests

  • Dr.Zeeshan Ahmeds research interests are centered around enhancing drug deliverythrough the design and characterization of micro and nanoformulations. Hefocuses on the formulation synthesis, stability, and biological behavior ofnanoparticles, particularly in terms of their interaction with biologicalfluids. His work primarily explores the diffusivity of non-sphericalnanomaterials in intestinal mucus, aiming to optimize oral drug deliverysystems. This involves a multidisciplinary approach, combining techniques fromnanotechnology, microscopy, and pharmacology to develop targeted therapiesthat improve clinical outcomes.

Biography

Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Pharmacy, currently serving as an Associate Professor at Iqra University, North Karachi, Pakistan. With a background in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, his expertise lies in enhancing drug delivery through innovative methods. His academic journey is marked by a Ph.D. from the University of Paris Saclay, France, specializing in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology. Additionally, he holds dual master’s degrees in Pharmaceutics and Biotherapy, along with an MBA in General Management.

Dr. Zeeshan research experience is extensive and diverse, encompassing areas such as the synthesis and characterization of nanoformulations, nanofabrication, and the imaging behavior of nanoparticles in biological media. His work in preclinical and animal experiments is particularly notable, contributing significantly to the field. This multifaceted expertise is complemented by his role as a peer reviewer for international journals, highlighting his commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences.

His education also includes a Summer School at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and a Master’s degree from the University of ParisEst, France, focusing on Cell, Tissue, and Gene Biotherapies. His Pharmacy education was completed at the University of Sindh, Pakistan.

Professionally, his experience ranges from academic positions at Iqra University to research internships in France, focusing on drug delivery and therapeutic innovation. He has also engaged in research internships at the Institute Mondor for Biomedical Research and the Cancer-research Institute and European Cancer Centre, demonstrating his diverse research interests and capabilities.

His skill set is comprehensive, covering areas like imaging techniques, physicochemical analysis, pharmaceutics, molecular biology, microbiology, and pharmacology. His proficiency in these areas is evident in his publications and presentations at scientific conferences and congresses.
