Biography

I have been associated with the leading educational institutions and media houses in Pakistan
for more than twenty-seven years. Currently, I am working as a Professor and Head of Media
Science Department at Iqra University. Formerly I have served as an Associate Professor in the
Media Studies Department at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi, from
August 2014 to August 2020. Earlier, I headed the Communications and Public Affairs
Department at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), from 2008 to 2014. Besides, I also
served there as faculty in the Social Sciences department from 2012 to 2014. Further, I was
associated with various eminent national universities as research faculty. I have also worked in
the Dawn Group of Newspapers and MNJ Advertising Agency as editor and concept writer
respectively, early in my career. I have been a regular contributor to prominent newspapers,
magazines, websites and academic journals, sharing my work as a feature writer, blogger, and
researcher for the last 25 years. Further, I presented my research both at the national and
international forums, conferences and seminars and received recognition for my academic and
professional excellence. Presently, I am serving as the Approved Research Supervisor of the
Higher Education Commission of Pakistan besides being an active member of the International
Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and Association of Media and
Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP). I am also contributing as a reviewer to
various distinguished research journals, both national and international besides being a
member of the advisory boards and academic committees of several educational institutions in
the country. Around 200 articles in mainstream newspapers, magazines, blogs and websites
including publications such as Daily Dawn, Daily Times, The News, Jang, Express, Women’s Own,
Star Weekend and Hum Sub on various issues and themes
