Iqra University and American Institute of Pakistan Studies Sign Virtual MoU to Foster Scholarly Collaboration

Iqra University marked another milestone in its internationalization efforts by signing a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) on July 8, 2025. The virtual ceremony was attended by esteemed representatives from both institutions, aiming to pave the way for an impactful academic collaboration and cultural exchange.

From the American Institute of Pakistan Studies, the meeting was graced by Dr. Matthew A. Cook (President) and Dr. Aalia Sohail Khan (Country Director). Representing Iqra University were Prof. Dr. Nassar Ikram (President/Vice Chancellor), Mr. Aseem Majid Rizvi (Registrar), and Ms. Humaira Anwar (Head of International Office).

Both leaders emphasised the importance of mutual academic growth and research exchange. Sharing his thoughts on the partnership, Dr. Nassar Ikram stated,

“I want to express my gratitude to the entire team for bringing up this MoU. I am always more interested to put things on the wheel and go ahead. I look forward to have some tangible steps taken for the betterment of both the organisations.”

Dr. Matthew A. Cook also echoed the spirit of collaboration and expressed keen interest in engaging more deeply with Pakistan’s academic landscape.

“I look forward to an efficient scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan, and I’m excited about a fruitful collaboration between Iqra University and the American Institute of Pakistan Studies.”

This MoU reflects a shared vision for cross-border academic partnerships and is expected to bring forth meaningful initiatives in the field of research, faculty development, and cultural understanding between the two institutions.
