CPLE Conducts a 2-Day Training Program on Mastering Modern Leadership Communication

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” George Bernard Shaw

In today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving corporate landscape, communication is no longer just a tool – it is the foundation for organizational success. Effective communication is the bridge that connects strategic leadership with operational excellence, the glue that holds diverse teams together, and the engine that drives innovation. Without clear, thoughtful communication, even the best business strategies can fall apart, leading to missed opportunities, misunderstandings, and workplace tension. In fact, successful leaders today are defined by their ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and precision.

A Milestone in Professional Development: The Communicate to Elevate Program

To elevate communication to a new standard, Iqra University’s Centre for Professional Learning and Excellence (CPLE) introduced a game-changing corporate training program: ‘Communicate to Elevate: Unlocking Interpersonal Excellence.’ Conducted in partnership with employees from Muller & Phipps Courier Company, the two-day program on February 16th and 17th, 2025, addressed the modern challenges that middle managers face in connecting leadership goals to operational outcomes.

Under the expert guidance of Ms. Barera Quadri, Manager and HOD of the Centre for Professional Learning and Excellence (CPLE), the participants benefited from her extensive 13-year experience in corporate training and deep understanding of applied linguistics. Her impressive track record with prestigious clients like Martin Dow Limited, JS Bank, and Bank Al-Habib Limited brought real-world relevance to the training program.

Workshop Takeaways: Six Pillars of Modern Leadership Communication

The Communicate to Elevate program was a comprehensive 16-hour training session designed to provide middle managers with the tools to bridge communication gaps and cultivate stronger relationships with their teams. The training program focused on the following six critical pillars essential for modern leadership communication:

  1. Effective Communication Techniques
The first day of the program explored the art of active listening, clear messaging, and incorporating AI-enhanced communication tools. As technology increasingly drives workplace interactions, the ability to integrate digital tools while maintaining human connection becomes vital. Participants honed their ability to communicate efficiently without sacrificing empathy and clarity.
  2. Emotional Intelligence in Leadership

Leaders who can harness emotional intelligence (EI) are more equipped to build trust and foster productive relationships. On Day 2, the training shifted to developing emotional intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and feedback techniques. Participants learned how understanding their own emotions and those of their teams can resolve conflicts before they escalate.

  3. Conflict Resolution Strategies

Conflict, though inevitable, need not disrupt team dynamics if handled correctly. The program provided participants with effective conflict resolution strategies designed to diffuse tensions, mediate disputes, and ensure that disagreements become constructive, not divisive.

  4. Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity

Today’s workplaces are more diverse than ever, making cultural sensitivity a must-have skill. One of the cornerstones of this training was teaching managers to be culturally aware and respectful of differences. By embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity, middle managers can create an environment where every team member feels valued and respected.

  5. Building Rapport and Team Collaboration

True leadership lies not only in directing teams but also in encouraging The training emphasized the importance of rapport-building, and nurturing a culture of feedback.

  6. Leading with Empathy

Leadership is no longer just about achieving business goals—it’s about doing so with empathy. Participants learned how to lead with a deep understanding of their teams’ needs and concerns. Through empathy-driven leadership, managers can inspire loyalty, reduce turnover, and create a more supportive workplace environment.

It is important to remember that by ensuring effective communication, leaders in any field, can unlock new levels of success, both for themselves and for their teams. Moreover, effective communication isn’t just about what you say—it’s about how you listen, empathize, and engage because:

“Communication works for those who work at it.” John Powell
