Iqra University Students Shine as Finalists in QS Impact Skills Challenge 2024

Iqra University proudly stands as the only university from Pakistan to make it to the Top 8 finalists of the prestigious QS Impact Skills Challenge 2024. Competing with 287 teams from 58 universities worldwide, Team IQRA has earned its place with their innovative educational game, “SDG Metropolis.” This game serves as a powerful tool promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs), helping schools and local councils understand how individual actions contribute to achieving global sustainability.

Comprising talented students Malik Hammad (BSSE), Rabia Makani (BSSE), Danyal Ahmed (BS TEL), and Ahmed Umar (BSCS), Team IQRA has showcased exemplary teamwork, dedication, and creativity under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Mansoor Ebrahim, Head of Software Engineering at Iqra University.

With the final results of the challenge set to be announced at the QS ReImagine Awards 2024 in December, the entire IU community is eagerly awaiting the outcome. Special thanks go to the FEST faculty members, including Dean Prof. Dr. Arshad Aziz and Prof. Dr. Mansoor Ebrahim, whose unwavering support brought out the best in their students, as well as Haroon & his team for their last-minute efforts to finalize the team’s video submission.

A total of 25 teams across various IU campuses participated in the challenge, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to fostering innovation and SDG literacy among its students.

Best of luck to Team IQRA!
