Iqra University students recently took part in a noble activity, visiting the PAWS Rescue in honor of World Animal Day.
The trip to the PAWS Rescue was not just an invasion of pleasure but a justified pleasure to see what the organization stands for. Students got to play with kittens, puppies, and other animals that had been rescued off the streets. For these students, it meant giving their time and hands-on help, which helped in the nurturing of such animals.
Beyond the heartwarming interactions, the visit also enabled students to learn many facts about the welfare of the animals. They understood how animal shelters may be overwhelmed, how pets should be treated with care and kindness, and why animals deserve respect. Such encounters are bound to motivate students to be defenders of the voiceless and caring pet owners.
On this World Animal Day, let us remind ourselves that all creatures have the right to our love, care, and affection. A step forward is to endorse institutions like PAWS Rescue and extend some service hours to help them because many animals can be helped that way.
