She Speaks: Nurturing Inclusivity for the Women of Today

In celebration of International Women's Day (#IWD2024), Iqra University hosted a powerful event titled "She Speaks" on March 7, 2024. This event brought together a diverse group of influential women to discuss the crucial theme of Nurturing Inclusivity for the Women of Today.

In celebration of International Women’s Day (#IWD2024), Iqra University hosted a powerful event titled “SheSpeaks” on March 7, 2024. This event brought together a diverse group of influential women to discuss the crucial theme of “Nurturing Inclusivity for the Women of Today. 

Anjum Bano, Head of the Department of Education & Social Sciences, spoke about the importance of creating a supportive environment for women.  She encouraged young girls to believe in themselves and stressed the importance of setting goals and staying focused to achieve them. Jehan Ara, CEO of Katalyst Labs, urged for the celebration of women every day and highlighted the need for the inclusion of disabled individuals in society. She also encouraged young girls to leverage technology to build networks and increase their efficiency. 

Kaif Ghaznavi, a versatile artist, stressed the importance of finding mentors for personal growth. Kami Sid, the first Pakistani trans model and activist, advocated for inclusivity and acceptance. Sirah Haq, a scriptwriter, producer, and a creative force in the film industry, focused on the lack of representation of differently-abled people on screen. She emphasized the importance of diverse representation in storytelling. Fatima Irfan, an international jujitsu athlete and gold medalist, highlighted the significance of strength for women in sports and inspiring others. She expressed her pride in being an ambassador against harassment in sports. The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to all guest speakers.
