History of Russian-Pakistani Friendship

Iqra University had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Russian Consulate led by His Excellency Andrey Fedorov, Consul General of the Russian Federation on 25th of January 2024. Also present was Ruslan Prokhorov, Head of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, along with other representatives of the Russian Consulate, who came together to commemorate the History of Russian-Pakistani Friendship.

During his visit, His Excellency Fedorov spoke to the students about the historical ties between our countries. He highlighted the collaboration in projects like the Pakistan Steel Mill and thanked Pakistan for supporting Russia’s vision for peace in South Asia. His Excellency encouraged the students to excel in diplomacy and engaged in a lively question-and-answer session with them.

Dr. Nassar Ikram, the Vice Chancellor of Iqra University, expressed gratitude to His Excellency Fedorov and emphasised the multidimensional relationship between our two states. Dr. Ikram highlighted the areas of collaboration in science and technology, agriculture, and military cooperation, which have further enhanced our ties.

Dr. Ikram also praised the quality and affordability of education in Russia, encouraging students to consider it for their higher education. The visit of the Russian delegation to Iqra University reaffirmed the strong bond between Russia and Pakistan. It paved the way for further cooperation and promising future relations between our countries.
