A South Korean delegation from Kyungdong University (KDU) visited Iqra University (IU) on November 10, 2023, to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and conduct a seminar on the South Korea Exchange Programme and Semester Exchange Opportunity for IU Students, along with on-the-spot admission queries from students.

The guests from South Korea included President KDU Global Prof. Dr. John Kyu Lee, Assistant Professor KDU Global Dr. Sehrish Gul, and Korean Universities Admission Centre (KUAC) Managing Director Ms. Chaewon Jung. A reception team comprising the Vice Chancellor Dr. Nassar Ikram, Dean FBA Dr. Zaki Rashidi, Dean FEST Dr. Kamran Raza, Registrar Dr. Mirza Amin ul Haq, and Senior Manager Placement Department Mufarrah Malik welcomed the guests.

The vice chancellor, Dr. Ikram, introduced the staff of IU and gave a welcome address. Then Dr. Rashidi gave a presentation of the details of IU. After Dr. Rashidi gave the introduction of Iqra University’s academia, campus life, faculty members, and various programmes, Dr. Lee briefed about Kyungdong University.

Later on, Dr. Lee showed two videos regarding the culture of KDU, campus life, students, and programmes at KDU. Another promotional video was shown in which the life of South Korea, the scenic location of the university, and vibrant student life were shown.

Dr. Lee stated that KDU was founded in 1982 and was not as successful as it is today. “We worked on globalisation to increase the ranking of KDU,” he said. “Our journey started with the IT and business departments, as more than 60 percent of the students are willing to study IT and business,” he said. He maintained that he has shared KDU’s curriculum with several international universities that have appreciated it.

“We have introduced this mobility programme for the wellbeing of all the students around the world,” he said. Dr. Lee informed the staff and president of IU that this exchange programme will be fully funded. “We will provide finance, safety, and opportunity to the students,” he said.

Subsequently, Dr. Ikram spoke on behalf of Iqra University and said, “I am convinced that we have to work very hard in order to achieve our goals and gain more success. The realisation must come in every field, be it upper management, faculty, or students. We have to enable and transform the students to excel in their practical lives,” said Dr. Ikram.

Later, president KDU and president IU officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). Moreover, ccommemorative souvenirs and shields were also presented to the guests.
