Ignite at IQRA University: Empowering Innovation and Research

The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at IQRA University has recently revamped the structure of the Ignite program. As part of this initiative, four focal persons, one from each Karachi campus, have been appointed to better manage and enhance student participation. These focal persons serve as key points of contact, guiding students through the application process and ensuring their projects align with the program’s goals of nurturing innovation and research excellence.

In line with these changes, the quota for Final-Year Projects (FYPs) under Ignite has been significantly increased, expanding from 10 to 40. This allows a greater number of students to secure grants and gain valuable support to develop their ideas into practical, impactful solutions to pressing real-world challenges. These grants not only provide financial backing but also open doors to mentorship, industry connections, and potential commercialization opportunities. By promoting a culture of innovation, Ignite aims to empower students to think beyond traditional boundaries and contribute to Pakistan’s growing technology and research landscape.

The details of the appointed focal persons are as follows:

IU ORIC is thrilled to announce that 4 innovative packaging designs from IU have been granted design patents by the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO). A special endorsement to Dr. Baber Khan from the Media Sciences Department for his exceptional contributions.
