Iqra University ORIC Leads Ethical Reform for Transparent Research Practices
Iqra University’s Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) has embarked on a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the integrity and transparency of its research initiatives. This effort began with the inaugural meeting of the Ethical Review Board on May 22, 2024, where critical issues were addressed.
During this milestone gathering, standard operating procedures (SOPs) were meticulously finalized to ensure consistency and fairness in the board’s operations. The university’s research policy was thoroughly reviewed and debated among the distinguished panel members.
Recognizing the importance of proactive governance, the formation of Departmental Research Committees was approved. These committees will play a pivotal role in guiding research projects to the Ethical Review Board whenever ethical considerations arise.
Furthermore, to streamline the integration of ethical guidelines, a dedicated web portal will be established. This platform will serve as a transparent channel for broadcasting the research process and ethical dimensions, facilitating online submission of research proposals.
In a testament to ongoing commitment, it was decided to convene quarterly meetings, underscoring the university’s unwavering dedication to enhancing the credibility of its research endeavors.
