Iqra University hosted the HEC Intervarsity Games 2025–2026 Recognition Ceremony on 18 August 2026 to honour the dedication, commitment, and outstanding achievements of students who represented the University across various sporting competitions.
Honouring Intervarsity Achievements
The ceremony celebrated Iqra University’s HEC Intervarsity medal holders and recognised their discipline, perseverance, and competitive spirit. To acknowledge their accomplishments, Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah announced a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for each medal holder.
Recognising Success on the International Stage
Special recognition was given to Mr. Talha Rafique and Mr. Abdul Rehman for their remarkable achievements at the 10th Cadet, Junior, U-21 & Senior South Asian Karate Championship 2026 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In appreciation of their contribution to Pakistan’s sporting success, Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah announced a cash prize of Rs.100,000 for each athlete.
Celebrating Talent and Competitive Spirit
The event also honoured the leading performers of the Iqra University Summer Sports Camp. An energetic Taekwondo demonstration further added excitement to the ceremony and showcased the skill, confidence, and dedication of the University’s talented athletes. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Engr. Adil Askari, Honourable Member of the Provincial Assembly, along with Guests of Honour Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, Chairman & MD of Dr. Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre; Mr. Abdullah Fazal, Test Cricketer; Mr. Ismail Shah, District Sports Officer Karachi East; Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, District Sports Officer Malir; and Mr. Gohar Raza, Chief Director Physical Education, Government of Sindh. Through initiatives that recognise dedication and sporting achievement, Iqra University continues to encourage students to pursue excellence both on and beyond the field.
