Biography

Professor Dr. Waqar Ahmed is an accomplished professional currently serving as the Head of the Business Administration Department at Iqra University’s Gulshan Campus. With a tenure at Iqra University that dates back to 2015, Dr. Ahmed brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. His focus on supply chain management is underscored by more than 20 years of professional engagement across a spectrum of local and multinational enterprises.

Dr. Ahmed’s professional journey includes pivotal roles at renowned organizations such as DHL Pakistan, General Tyres Pakistan, Feroze Textile, and ICI Pakistan. His responsibilities in these organizations ranged from operational to key management positions, showcasing his versatility and leadership acumen in diverse settings.

Educationally, Dr. Ahmed holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from Iqra University, complemented by a Bachelor’s in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from NED University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Karachi. His research contributions span critical areas such as supply chain risk management, sustainable supply chain strategies, and the integration of disruptive technologies and innovation within supply chains. He has completed his bachelor’s in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from NED University and a Master’s in business administration from the University of Karachi.

A testament to his scholarly prowess, Dr. Ahmed has authored 49 HEC-recognized, international papers that are indexed in prestigious databases like Scopus and WoS, highlighting the depth and breadth of his contributions to the field of supply chain management.
