Biography

Ather Qadeer Qureshi is a seasoned professional whose illustrious career spans several decades in both corporate and academia. His corporate career is marked by remarkable achievements and significant contributions to the corporate world. His journey began in 1984, when as a fresh graduate, he embarked on his corporate odyssey as a Medical Representative at Abbot Labs, where he honed his skills in sales and marketing.

In 1986, Ather transitioned to JBL (Jaffer Bros PVT Limited), assuming the role of Liaison cum PR Officer. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional prowess in fostering relationships and managing public relations, laying the groundwork for his subsequent endeavors.

A pivotal movement in Ather’s career came in 1989 when he joined IBL (International Brands PVT Limited) as a Product Manager. Over the course of nearly a deacde, Ather’s strategic acumen and leadership abilities propelled him through the ranks, culminating appointment as Regional Sales Manager (RSM) before his resignation in 1998.

Eager to broaden his horizons and deepen his expertise, Ather ventured abroad in 1999 to join ALTER SARL Pharma based in Portugal and Spain, as Assistant Product Development Manager for Asian countries especially the sub-continent market. It was during this transformative period that he pursued his MBA from The Trinity College and University – Malaga Spain, specializing in marketing and achieving an impressive CGPA of 3.43.

Returning to Pakistan armed with new found knowledge and skills, Ather embarked on his next corporate chapter as Country Marketing Manager at Analytical Measuring Systems (AMS) PVT Limited from 2003 to 2008. His visionary leadership and strategic insights played a pivotal role in driving growth and fostering innovation within the organization. During his tenure at IBL, Ather further diversified his skills by conducting training sessions both at home and abroad including Dubai and Istanbul.

Throughout his corporate career Ather has exemplified a steadfast commitment to excellence, innovation and continuous learning. His journey stands as a testament to the transformative power, passion, persistence and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Currently ather is rendering his expertise at VCraft PVT Limited as a business consultant on call.

Journey in Academia

Having done his MBA from The trinity College and University Spain in 2003, Ather’s journey in academia began in 2008 when he joined Bahria University as an Assistant Professor, where he also assumed the role of Head of the Marketing/Entrepreneurship Cluster. Over the course of eight years, Ather played a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future leaders and entrepreneurs, leaving an indelible mark on the institution as a permanent faculty member. Ather has the distinction of developing the course outlines of Entrepreneurship, Advertising and Strategic Management during his tenure at Bahria University.

Simultaneously, Ather embarked on a parallel journey at IQRA University, where he has been imparting knowledge and wisdom to students across various campuses since 2008. His commitment to academic excellence and passion for teaching have earned him the admiration and respect of students and colleagues alike. Besides that Ather has also taught at some other leading business schools.

In the realm of research, Ather Qadeer Qureshi has made significant contributions to the field of marketing with his seminal work on consumer preferences for high-end fashion in developing economies. His research publication titled “Factors Influencing Consumer Preferences for High-End Fashion in a Developing Economy,” featured in the prestigious International Journal of Advanced Research in Economics, Sociology, and Management Sciences (IJARESM), Volume 10, February 2nd, 2022, has garnered widespread acclaim for its insights and methodology.

Moreover, Ather’s scholarly research interests extend to developing marketing strategies for unsought products, where his innovative approaches and strategic insights have garnered attention within academic and industry circles alike.

A trailblazer in academia, Ather Qadeer Qureshi is among the few educators who have pioneered the development of local case studies in marketing and management, showcasing his commitment to bridging theory with practical application. Currently, he is compiling his extensive repertoire of case studies into a comprehensive book, poised to become a valuable resource for students and practitioners alike.
