The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at IQRA University organized a session for newly onboarded faculty under the Faculty of Engineering, Science & Technology (FEST). The aim was to introduce them to the core elements of applied research, the importance of securing intellectual property rights, and the value of industry collaborations. Ms. Zareesh Zahra, ORIC Manager, led the session, emphasizing IU’s commitment to applied research to lead through the real-world impact.
Ms. Zareesh also shared key insights into the current state of research at IU, highlighting notable achievements such as participating in national and international funded projects. She presented success stories from the faculty’s industry engagement program, along with patent filing and securing, underscoring the growing strength of its research and innovation efforts.
During the interactive Q&A session, Dr. Sameer, Director of ORIC, addressed several queries and provided clarifications on the Research, Innovation, and Commercialization Policy. His detailed responses provided faculty members with a clearer understanding of the university’s approach to research, innovation, and the relevant policies, helping them grasp how these initiatives align with IU’s broader goals.
