On April 24, 2025, Dr. Sameer Qazi, Director IU ORIC, along with Dr. Asif Shamim, Professor, Faculty of Business Administration, and Dr. Muhammad Babar Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Media Sciences, visited Afeef Packages Pvt. Ltd.
The purpose of the visit was to explore potential avenues for the industrial commercialization of innovative food packaging designs developed by Dr. Babar. The delegation met with Mr. Rashid A. Siddiqui, Chairman, and Mr. Afeef Rashid, CEO of Afeef Packages.
Following a detailed evaluation of the patented packaging designs, an in-depth discussion was held on their practical application and scalability within the food industry.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Babar has been awarded patents for his novel packaging concepts, marking a significant step toward bridging academic innovation with industry needs.
