Iqra University Student Societies, including the Climate Change Society, Design & Aesthetic Society, and Law
Society, inaugurated Azadi Camp: “1947–2026 Tak Ka Safar” as part of the University’s Independence Day
celebrations. The initiative brought students together to reflect on Pakistan’s journey from its creation in 1947 to the
present day while celebrating the country’s heritage, identity, and national spirit. The camp offered an engaging experience that connected history with the present, encouraging students to explore the values on which Pakistan was founded and reflect on the progress, challenges, and aspirations that have shaped the nation over the decades.
Reflecting on Pakistan’s Journey
The theme “1947–2026 Tak Ka Safar” takes visitors through the remarkable journey of Pakistan across generations. From the vision behind the creation of the country to the developments that have shaped its social, cultural, economic, and national identity, the camp provides an opportunity to look back and understand how far the nation has come. The initiative also highlights the message and vision of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose principles continue to serve as an important source of inspiration for generations of Pakistanis.
Creativity Meets National Identity
Through creative displays and student led activities, the participating societies brought history and national identity to life in an engaging way. The camp provided students with a platform to express their understanding of Pakistan through creativity while encouraging meaningful conversations about the country’s past and future. The involvement of the Climate Change Society, Design & Aesthetic Society, and Law Society also reflects the diverse interests and perspectives within the Iqra University student community. Their collaborative efforts demonstrated how student societies can use creativity and learning to contribute to meaningful campus initiatives.
Looking Towards the Future
While the camp celebrates Pakistan’s achievements and heritage, it also encourages students to think about the country’s future. Understanding the past provides an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities of the present and the role young people can play in shaping a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan. For today’s students, the journey from 1947 to 2026 serves as both a reflection of the nation’s history and a reminder of the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead. By encouraging dialogue, creativity, and a sense of responsibility, Azadi Camp inspires the university community to envision a future built on unity, progress, and shared aspirations
Celebrating Independence at Iqra University
Azadi Camp represents more than an Independence Day activity. It is a celebration of Pakistan’s heritage, identity, and enduring spirit, while providing students with an opportunity to connect with the country’s history and reflect on its future. Through initiatives such as these, Iqra University continues to encourage students to engage with important national themes, express their creativity, and become responsible members of society. “1947–2026 Tak Ka Safar” reminds us that every generation has a role to play in carrying forward the journey of Pakistan and contributing to a brighter tomorrow.
