10th Steering Committee Meeting | Driving Research and Innovation at IU ORIC
IU ORIC held its 10th Steering Committee Meeting on November 24, 2025, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Nassar Ikram.
Dr. Sameer Qazi, Director ORIC, shared updates on action items, focusing on the assessment of Technical Readiness Levels and Market Readiness Levels of IU projects. Progress updates were presented by Ms. Zareesh Zehra, Manager ORIC, who highlighted recent faculty engagement after the Faculty Industry Placement Program, strong research contributions, including 60 NRPU submissions, and continued awareness sessions on Intellectual Property Rights. The committee also noted IU’s achievement of securing 12 granted IPs, with a total of 62 IP filings, 26 in 2024 and 36 in 2025.
The meeting also discussed new linkages with Hamdard University and a significant MoU with RESOLVE (S) SUPARCO. This partnership will support joint supervision of MS and PhD students, FYP collaboration, student internships, industry-supported datasets, and access to advanced facilities.
Dr. Nassar appreciated the contributions of all internal and external members and emphasized continuous improvement to support IU ORIC’s growth and its mission to advance research, innovation, and industry collaboration across the university.
