The Pharmacy Department at Iqra Univeristy has achieved a significant milestone by equipping its Pharmaceutical Chemistry, BMS, and Pharmaceutics Labs with advanced and diverse laboratory equipment. BMS Lab
The BMS Lab boasts a wide range of equipment, including microscopes, ECG machines, and analytical balances. The lab is also equipped with a diverse glassware and chemicals, such as beakers, pipettes, and volumetric flasks, along with a comprehensive inventory of chemicals. this setup supports diverse experimental needs and enhances the learning experience
Pharmaceutics Lab
The Pharmaceutics Lab features sophisticated instruments like centrifuges, digital weighing balances, and fume hoods. Industrial Lab
The Industrial Lab at the Department of Pharmacy & Allied Sciences has been modernized with key equipment such as a manual capsule filling machine, horizontal and cone mixers, an ointment filling machine, and a ball mill with a capacity of up to 10kg, coating pressure tank, mechanical stirrer, vernier caliper, digital weight balance, water deionizer plant. These advancements have significantly enhanced the precision and efficiency of pharmaceutical formulation processes, providing students with hands-on experience in modern pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques. This upgrade ensures that students are well-prepared for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, equipped with practical skills and knowledge of industry-standard equipment.
Instrumentation and Quality Control (QC) Lab
The Instrumentation and QC Lab has been equipped with cutting-edge instruments including a UV spectrophotometer, digital dissolution apparatus, digital moisture analyzer, stability chamber, high-precision analytical balance, and stability chamber with large volume capacity. These enhancements have enabled accurate and reliable quality control testing for pharmaceutical products and facilitated advanced research in drug stability and dissolution studies. Microbiology Lab
The Microbiology Lab has been upgraded with essential equipment such as an autoclave, colony counter, laminar air flow vertical, multiple microscopes, and Digital Balance. The lab is well-equipped with microscopes, a microtome, an oven, a pH meter, Sox let apparatus, UV lamps, water baths, and a sonicator, ensuring comprehensive research and analysis. The inventory also boasts a wide array of chemicals, including acetone, chloroform, ethanol, and numerous essential oils, as well as an extensive list of natural drugs like anise, black mustard, cinnamon, and turmeric. Additionally, the lab is stocked with essential glassware and accessories such as beakers, burettes, desiccators, funnels, and volumetric flasks, along with various miscellaneous items like aluminum foil, biohazard boxes, burners, and lab coats.
