Iqra University hosted its 11th Annual Convocation where young graduates from multiple disciplines were honored for tremendous efforts they invested in the pursuit of education.
Iqra University, Karachi – February 03, 2013 – Convocation at IU, a day to cheer achievements of more than 500 fresh graduates from various disciplines. More than 2000 guests from corporate sector, faculty members, educationists, friends and family members witnessed the prestigious ceremony.
The 11th Convocation of IU graduates proved to be the most magnificent event in University’s history, with as many as 500 students in the graduating Class of 2012. The Ceremony began with the Registrar entering the Venue holding Iqra University’s convocation mace – which narrates the core values of IU. Following him were the creative, analytical, technologically sound, luminous and knowledgeable graduates of Media Sciences, Management Sciences, Computer Sciences, Education & Learning Sciences, Engineering and Fashion & Textile Designing.
Lastly, our honorable Board of Governors with Chancellor, Mr. Hunaid Lakhani and our Chief Guest Dr. Samar Mubarakmand graced the occasion.
Dr. Samar Mubarakmand (NI, SI, HI, Ph.D., FPAS), is a Pakistani nuclear scientist and a renowned nuclear physicist. He is the founding Chairman of Pakistan’s National Engineering and Scientific Commission.
Dr. Mubarakmand congratulated fresh graduates of IU on completion of their respective degrees. He stressed on the role of Faculty in educating and grooming these students. He shared his rich experiences and guided students to believe in them selves and their country. He highlighted role of the youth in the Development of our Country and recognized that such young graduates are the real asset of Pakistan.
It was a proud moment for Iqra University to witness its beaming graduates entering the prestigious club of IU Alumni. IU in its brief journey has produced some of the best talent available in the corporate sector and is on a continuous voyage to train young individuals and transform them into the leaders of tomorrow!
